A complex narrative, whose pieces gradually come together and reveal what is the importance in a land devastated by the horrors of war. The tactical part looks very realistic, so does the scenario. We know little about conflicts in territories in Eastern Europe. The film is a good contribution to the various forces that operate in this inhospitable region. I loved the acting of the cast!
War drama "Mosul", produced by the Russo brothers, this film is quite interesting, because it brings a story outside the Americanized view of the conflicts in Iraq. The plot focuses on this elite group that tries to do one last mission in a war-torn city. The narrative is not always well developed, but the urgency of the film is quite interesting, it captures those who watch it and gradually we get to know this group that tries to reach a part of the city. Director Matthew Michael Carnahan does not spare the viewer the horrors of war and the carnage that ensues.
It is a violent film, but it even falls into the gore, not to mention that it is impossible to be oblivious to the war going on amid innocent civilians who are dying along the way. The film has such a realistic footprint that it made you wonder how the scenes were shot, the setting is impressive (probably real locations). The plot is engaging enough for you to embark with these characters and discover the objective of the mission. Regarding his performances, Adam Bessa stands out as a police officer who finds himself recruited by the team. Another highlight is Suhail Dabbach as the mission commander. "Mosul" is a good drama, it works even better as a war drama, the action is constant, as well as the tension, if you like the genre, this is a good choice.
The war film pleases with impressive images and a consistently tense atmosphere, but it takes very little away from the characters and their stories - despite the very personal participation, they are very distant.
How can civilians live in a city like that? How to get food water and still have constant fear?
